About

The purpose of this blog is to communicate some of my thoughts on Peace, Civilization, Earth(our ecosystem), Species Diversity, exploring Human Potential and moving this intelligent life form into the Future.

I wish to help create a more just civilization in which humans do not contribute to suffering and the ecosystem is cherished and respected. We do not currently have control over natural or environmental forces, but far more suffering is caused by humans. One has only to look as far as a regime which marginalizes its citizenry through unjust distribution of resources—including dictating who has access to an education. If one adds up all of the people living under unjust rulers, religious or secular, the total is many, many times the number of people who are affected by natural disasters. This is a tragedy because it is not necessary. We have the power to change this because it is “we” who are causing the issue (more on “we” and “they” later).

Some concepts here may appear “way out there,” as in, “he’s out there.” Well, I am a sci-fi writer. When I write of the future, I am not only thinking of the near future but also millions of years out. Yes, I believe if we are conscious and thoughtful, there can be a version us in that distant a future.

We don’t have a good track record for living peacefully in a sustainable manner. Our past and present is rife with groups violently maneuvering for power. We have hunted and persecuted various species to extinction and near extinction. We have treated this biosphere worse than if it were our own property. We have treated it as if we were thieving invaders on someone else’s property, plundering as fast as possible before the owner came home—and in a way, we are. “We” came on the scene only recently in ‘Earth-time’.

We have the intelligence, knowledge and technology to live peacefully and sustainability. We simply need to make the commitment and do it.

I am spelling out my peace and sustainability plan on this site, what I call, The New Paradigm for Humanity. At this time, there are fifteen components. One is so basic I believe it is the root of all strife and war. Having to do with an agreement we have made, if we were to universally reject the agreement, war would stop and we would not need the other fourteen components. However, it will be met with resistance so, for now, we must also address the sub-causes.

More soon.
